Beach Trotters is the originator of the 4S concept. This concept was devised and is still used to show in an easy and clear way the characteristics that a successful beach resort should have. Here is a brief explanation of the 4S:
Healthy Beaches
They must be clean and free of debris. Your sand should be oxygenated and removed to sanitise it, free of bacteria.
Safe Beaches
They must have sufficient surveillance, such as lifeguards, and be free of hazards for visitors, such as glass in the sand.
Sustainable Beaches
The natural ecosystem of the beach must be maintained. Cleanliness, equipment and use of the beach must be respectful.
